We price dues to be affordable for the smallest landlord. This price is not enough to fund our policy operations and services like events. Events in particular are very expensive. We pay for a professional zoom subscription and video transcripts for recorded events. And we have additional cost in the form of staff time. We have to prepare speakers, moderate the event, and enforce our "no sales pitch" guarantee. There are lots of free real estate events out there, they tend to attract sharks selling thousand dollar systems. Our events are strictly educational/organizational.
